Top 10 Beer Advertisers by Ad Spend
The highest spending beer brand in July 2020 was Corona, with $10.4 million in overall ad spend. However, that marks a $4.3 million decrease in spend for Corona versus the same period last year. The brand with the largest relative decline in spend between 2019 and 2020 was Coors Light.
Subcategory Share of Beer Ad Occurrences
Domestic beers were featured most in July 2020 advertising, making up 46% of ad occurrences. Within Domestic Beer advertising, there was a pronounced shift in focus from Light Beer to Regular, with Regular Domestic share increasing from 16% in 2019 to 25% in 2020.

With consumers spending more time in their homes due to the pandemic, beer advertisers increased the proportion of their July spend on television ads in 2020 to 70% of total spend, up from 53% in 2019.
